Quality Basics: QMS Getting Started Guide

Complete the following activities to get started using Quality Basics: QMS. You will find links, videos, and other materials to help you along the way.

Understanding Effort Levels

Low effort: Quick tasks that can be completed independently, such as downloading materials or watching videos (typically less than 30 minutes).

Medium effort: Tasks requiring internal discussion or coordination with 1-2 teams. May involve reviewing materials internally and making decisions (typically 1-3 meetings or a few hours of work).

High effort: Complex tasks requiring coordination across multiple stakeholders, significant planning, and potentially multiple rounds of review and approval (may span several weeks with multiple meetings).
The following items should be used to organize your team, your data, your Vault usage plan, and your timeline(s).

Identify & Document Key Project Deadlines

Document critical dates that may impact your timeline. Review the below factors (and/or add your own), then determine your finish line - when do you want your business to start working in the system?

  • Sunsetting a legacy system
  • An upcoming audit
