Associate a Supporting Document to a Document

Document relationships create a connection between two documents. In Veeva Quality Basics you can associate one or more supporting documents to a document. This type of relationship points to the latest version of a document.

Best Practice You should always add supporting documents to the Source document.

Example

This example shows an SOP. The References section has one document listed as a reference. To make the association between the SOP and the referenced document, you should:

  1. Open the SOP (Source Document).

  2. Follow the instructions below to add the referenced document as a supported document. It will be added in the Target Documents area.

Add a Supporting Document

To add a supporting (target) document:

  1. Navigate to Document Workspace > Working Library and open the document you want to add supporting documents to.

  2. Click the Quality Relationships icon.

  3. Click the add icon ().

  4. Select the Document Relationship Type and click Continue.

  5. Select one or more documents and click Close.

    The supporting documents are added as Target documents.

Remove a Supporting Document

To remove a supporting document:

  1. Hover your mouse over the document you want to un-associate and click the remove icon ().
