Manage the eCTD Lifecycle in a Content Plan

Who can complete this task? Veeva RIM Basics: Vault Admin, RIM Admin, Submission Manager

To apply a lifecycle to a document in a content plan, the corresponding content plan item must be in the Ready for Use state.

  1. Click into the XML Operation field for the content plan item.

  2. Select the appropriate operation (e.g. Replace), and click out of the field to save.

  3. Click the Actions ellipsis () on the content plan item, and select Set Leaf Operation.

  4. Select the leaf operation target, or the document you want to replace.

  5. Click Save.

    • The XML Modified File field will now be populated.

  6. After the submission is published, click the Submissions Archive Viewer dolly () in the upper right.

  7. Select the document to confirm that your workflow/leaf operation has been applied (e.g. 0002 Replace > 0001), and observe any changes in the document viewer.

  8. If desired, select the Historical Lifecycle of Document option to view the sequence of events.
