&lt;ul>
&lt;li>&lt;strong>To the right of the workflow name&lt;/strong> (e.g., &amp;ldquo;Approval Workflow&amp;rdquo;): actions that apply to the entire workflow, such as &lt;em>Add Participants&lt;/em>, &lt;em>Email Participants&lt;/em>, &lt;em>Replace Workflow Owner&lt;/em>, or &lt;em>Cancel Workflow&lt;/em>.&lt;/li>
&lt;li>&lt;strong>To the right of the task name&lt;/strong> (e.g., &amp;ldquo;Mark Document(s) Approved/Not Approved&amp;rdquo;): actions that apply to that specific task, such as &lt;em>Reassign&lt;/em>, &lt;em>Update Task Due Date&lt;/em>, or &lt;em>Cancel Task&lt;/em>.&lt;/li>

&lt;p>Copying text in a document is as simple as holding &lt;strong>C&lt;/strong>, then clicking on a word. This can be useful to quickly grab something like a document number that you&amp;rsquo;ll need to paste elsewhere.&lt;/p>

For example, &lt;strong>Ctrl+Shift+E&lt;/strong> / &lt;strong>⌘+Shift+E&lt;/strong> will toggle the document into edit mode, while &lt;strong>Ctrl+Shift+S&lt;/strong> / &lt;strong>⌘+Shift+S&lt;/strong> will save changes on a document that&amp;rsquo;s already in edit mode.&lt;/p>

&lt;li>By default, all sections are created as &lt;strong>Inactive&lt;/strong>, so first use the &lt;em>Show Inactive&lt;/em> button in the top right to display all sections.

&lt;li>Ensure that all relationships are added to your Submission from the Application by using the Submission Wizard.

For example, in RIM Basics, there is a &amp;ldquo;RIM Admin&amp;rdquo; tab collection for Admins to manage things like Users and Core Data, as well as a &amp;ldquo;Submission Mgmt&amp;rdquo; tab collection for End Users to work on Documents, Application, Submissions, and more.&lt;/p>
&lt;p>Your Vault Admin can set a &lt;strong>preferred tab collection&lt;/strong> on the User level to decide which tab collection you&amp;rsquo;d like to land on upon initial login. To do this, they need to add the Preferred Tab Collection column to the Users tab of the relevant &lt;strong>Admin&lt;/strong> tab collection, then click into the field to select it.&lt;/p>

&lt;p>Admins can create and share views relevant to a role or department, then share individually with those users to ensure team alignment. If your team repeatedly adds the same columns, contact GSC or post on Veeva Connect to suggest making them default.&lt;/p>
&lt;p>For example, in RIM, save a view showing &lt;em>In Progress&lt;/em> U.S. Submissions with a &lt;em>Planned Submission Date&lt;/em> in the next 6 months—complete with custom sorting, columns, and a custom name for the saved view.&lt;/p>
&lt;p>&lt;img src="save-views-1.png" alt="Image of saved view in Veeva Basics">&lt;/p></description></item><item><title>Bulk Workflows &amp; Actions</title><link>/tips/general/bulk-workflows-actions/</link><pubDate>Mon, 27 Oct 2025 09:25:08 -0400</pubDate><author>Seth Morris</author><guid>/tips/general/bulk-workflows-actions/</guid><description>&lt;p>Rather than updating records one at a time, &lt;strong>bulk actions&lt;/strong> let you apply changes to several &lt;a href="/bulk-record-actions">documents&lt;/a> or &lt;a href="bulk-document-actions">records&lt;/a> at once, saving significant time on repetitive tasks. You can perform a bulk action in several ways:&lt;/p>
&lt;ul>
&lt;li>&lt;strong>Cart&lt;/strong>: You can add Documents to your Cart, which will be maintained throughout login sessions until cleared/updated&lt;/li>
&lt;li>&lt;strong>Favorites&lt;/strong>: Similar to the Cart, but is also on objects and allows you to see the records in a more familiar way.&lt;/li>
&lt;li>&lt;strong>Filtered View&lt;/strong>: Apply a certain set of filters or navigate to a Saved View on either documents or objects.&lt;/li>
&lt;li>&lt;strong>Reports&lt;/strong>: Outputs from Reports can be used to perform a bulk action.&lt;/li>
&lt;/ul>
&lt;p>All of these methods of performing a bulk action or workflow are available by clicking on the ellipses (&lt;i class="fas fa-ellipsis" alt="Black Ellipsis Icon">&lt;/i>) in the top right of each applicable screen. From there, you can then further narrow down the records that need to be updated.&lt;/p>
